The first trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, a film that is set to be released in the UK on February 17, has been released online.
In the trailer, we see Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and Frodo Baggins’ (Anthony Hopkins) son Sam (Ian McKellen) and his nephew Bilbo (Martin Day) playing in a woodland scene, while a young girl named Elrond (Sam Heughan) is seen dancing on a tree branch.
The trailer also shows the return of Peter Jackson’s dwarves in the film, and the final scene sees Sam and Frogo, along with Sam’s other friends, heading to the Lonely Mountain to explore the lands there.
The film is directed by Martin Freeman, who also wrote the screenplay, and it stars Ian McKellen, Emma Watson, Gwendoline Christie, and Martin Freeman as well as Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins, Oscar-winning actor and screenwriter of The Hobbit.
